Konnichiwa! My name is Marikit and I am the face behind marikit studios.  I am a self-taught artist who is seeking to perfect her art one brush stroke at a time.  I am currently based in the Philippines and I have been  drawing since I was a child. When I am not dabbling around in my studio,I work Long hours as an entrepreneur and business person. I also sometimes stream.

I worked as the main illustrator for EVERY STORY,MY STORY, a unique children’s book experience where children can co-write their own stories. Each story is written by Jo Mc Clelland-Philipps, a great Australian Author whose works have appeared in TIME Magazine among others. My work has also been seen with Gisela Productions book of poetry Dancing-you(Dancing to you) by Giseila Pereira available on Amazon

Art and creative work has always been my primary form of expression. I love spending hours in the studio, creating illustrations, drawing and painting. I also love  hoarding art materials, creating and playing with colors, textures and learning new ways to use materials. My primary media are colored pencils, markers, watercolor and gouache.

I love books, art, food , jellyfish, movies, World cultures, history and fantasy novels. My favorite genre is classic books, sci-fi,  historical fiction and fantasy.  Some of my favorite authors include, Jane Austen,  J.R.R Tolkien, Niel Gaiman, Diana Wynne Jones, Rob Chernow and Louisa May Alcott.  I have always dreamt of creating my own fantasy universe like  JRR Tolkien, Rick Riordan, JK Rowling and  Terry Brooks. My art muses include the art of Stephanie Pui-Mun Law, Chris Hong, Akira Amano, Yoshitaka Amano, Agnes Cecile, Disney and Studio Ghibli. I am a  fan of the strange, whimsical and queer. I am an Indigo Child.
