For the curious
The Longer Story of Marikit Studios
How art, books, stories, odd little obsessions, and a very full desk became this place.
I’ve been drawing since I was a child, and art has always been one of the ways I make sense of the world. Marikit Studios grew from that habit: making things, collecting stories, falling in love with materials, and giving strange little ideas somewhere to live.
I’m a self-taught artist based in the Philippines. My favorite traditional mediums are watercolor, gouache, colored pencils, and markers, though I also work digitally. I used to spend more time with oil and acrylic, but over the years I’ve gravitated toward materials that feel intimate, portable, and a little less likely to take over the whole room.

Illustration work & old adventures
Over the years I’ve worked on illustration projects including Every Story, My Story, a children’s book experience built around collaborative storytelling, and Gisela Pereira’s poetry book Dancing-you. I’ve also created private commissions, fan art, character work, environment studies, and the odd project that began as “just one drawing” and became a whole world.
What keeps showing up in my work
Books. Rabbits. Fantasy. History. World cultures. Journals. Odd creatures. Tiny details. Food. Beautiful stationery. Characters who insist on having opinions. I’m drawn to work that feels whimsical without becoming weightless — things that are soft, strange, thoughtful, or just a little enchanted.
This site is my shelf of little worlds
The Gallery holds the finished pieces. The Story Nook keeps the fiction, lore, and D&D tales. Studio Notes is where the sketchbooks, journaling, process, materials, and creative rambles end up. Together, they’re the closest thing I have to a map of my brain.
